Russell Cox wrote his first business plan in 1981 for an aerospace consulting concept. In 1983-4, he spent two years in silicon valley creating a computer startup—Oak Multi-Computer. In the years that followed, Russell was awarded two Bachelor of Science degrees, in Physics and Mathematics, from the University of Texas at Austin.

In 1998, Russell began The Select Investor as a financial newsletter providing investors with weekly market commentary and mutual fund based model portfolios. It consistently outperformed most other newsletters and mutual funds during its seven-year run. The limitations of hands-off investment advice drove Russell to transform The Select Investor into a business coaching practice. In 2005, after discovering IBI Global, Russell returned to his first love – start-up business formation—and is now exclusively focused on providing entrepreneurs and angel investors with the guidance they need to pursue their dreams – profitably.

Thanks to his experiences as an entrepreneur, his outside studies and his wide-ranging vision, Russell now helps his clients understand both the big picture and the details that must be done right now to move their plans forward. He combines proven teaching techniques, coaching, and exceptional team management skills to help both entrepreneurs and investors determine the viability of their dreams and provides the how, why, and when to turn them into profitable business projects.
